About - dailytypist

I write to people I haven’t met yet. Not because I know who they are, but because I know that somewhere, someone needs a sentence or two at the right time. If you want fast or efficiency, this may not be right for you. If you seek meaning, value in words, connection and to be seen and heard - then we need to talk!

Why this exists - we read and hear thousands of words daily, yet very few of them stay with us. Fewer still have an impact. These words go in one ear and out the other or get lost in the speed of scrolling. Text messages, get covered up with more texts, that are empty. I wanted to make something that would not be forgotten. Something that would not get lost in scrolling or the digital distractions. So, I began writing - daily - on a typewriter. Slowly, one sentence and one page at a time. With purpose, focus, intent and a commitment to each letter.

What I believe - I believe words matter, especially when we choose them carefully. I believe we are not strangers to each other - we just haven’t shared words together. We are future friends and we’re connected by this page I type - for you or someone else. I believe in connecting with each other, because we’re supposed to.

I believe in the timeless act of writing to express a feeling or thought. To celebrate a moment in your life of in someone else’s. I believe writing slowly in an age where we scroll fast, is more important now than ever. It’s a form of respect to ourselves and to each other.

What I do - I write daily. I have two blogs: one on fatherhood and the other on seeking wisdom, embracing hardship and living-well.

Also I write letters and poems that are commissioned. No templates. No artificial intelligence. No spell check or delete button. Just a typewriter, silk ribbon with ink, paper and the clacking of metal.

Who’s this for - the blog is for those wanting to gain wisdom - daily. Or, become better at raising, teaching, guiding and mentoring children.

The poems and letters are for those who know they want to say something but cannot find the words. When a text message is no longer good enough. For those that want to be seen and heard. For those who want their words, feelings and thoughts to be remembered, honored and respected. The world is loud and we get lost within that. This is for those who want to connect with others or themselves, in a meaningful and lasting way.

You don’t need to be a poet or writer. You don’t need to have all the answers. If you’re here, that’s enough. I’ll take it from here. Everything is already inside of you - my job is to expose it all on the page.

I invite you - I invite you to sit with me, at the table. What is your message? What do you want to say? And who’s it for? Could it just be for you?

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

I didn’t set out to start a business. I started writing because I needed to slow down. Life felt loud. I felt overwhelmed, tired and working without purpose. Days passed quickly. And the things that mattered most—time, family, meaning—were easy to overlook if I wasn’t paying attention.

So I bought a typewriter. Not out of nostalgia, but necessity. I needed words to take longer. I needed to hear them as I wrote them. At first, the writing was just for me. Then I realized something: There are a lot of people walking around carrying thoughts they never get to say out loud. So I began writing to them. People I haven’t met. People I might never meet. But people I believe exist on the other side of the page. Dailytypist isn’t about one thing, really.

It’s about connection, to the words we think and say to ourselves but cannot or don’t share. Or in some cases, don’t know what these words are to explain how we feel. About choosing words carefully in a world that rarely does. About offering something finished, imperfect, and human. Every letter is written by hand on a typewriter. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is automated. Never any intelligence that’s artificial.

If that feels unnecessary, I understand. But if it feels rare, you’re probably in the right place. I don’t know who you are. But I’m glad you’re here.
